Hello from Plumas Co., California. I decided to sell my 1951 CJ-3A that I had restored to give a military look. It was a fun project, and it turned out to be a really nice jeep with an excellent stock engine. Then the search began for a TJ, and I was fortunate to find a 2005 with only 64K miles. It will be much more useful than the old Willys. I plan on leaving it pretty much as it is, but might put a winch on it.

So far I have enjoyed perusing the forum, and I am sure I will enjoy the TJ.

Great looking CJ and TJ too! I'm sure the TJ is a welcome upgrade just in the sense that it's probably a lot more comfortable to drive in and rides better, huh?

Yes it is a real upgrade. It is nice to have something that is capable of highway speeds. The 51 was a primitive ride, but fun in it’s own way. I am very happy with everything about the upgrade.

I agree. When I see older vehicles like that I always think they would be fun for little short trips in or around town. However, for longer highway trips to extended driving periods, you definitely want something newer.

They each have their place though, and there is no denying that both are very cool!

I flat tow mine behind our RV, so I suspected that to be the case. If you ever decide to tow yours, you'll be all set!
