Help - dropping skid on LS swap

I know this is dumb but I am dropping my skid plate on my LS swapped 4L 60 E. I have the jack underneath the oil pan to support the weight, is there any were better to support the weight while I drop the skid plate? Bell housing on trans?

Transfer case output. Just like a factory jeep.

As far back as you can safely support the transmission next to the skid. Oil pan needs some 2×6 or better to avoid crushing the pan.

The LS pan seems way more robust than a 4.0L pan

I used the engine oil pan and threaded a ratchet strap under the transfer case in the back.
