Hey guys...after a LOT of struggling I was able to get the drivers side motor mount off the TJR. I reinstalled the motor mount and placed the new 1" currie MML in. It comes with a nut, bolt, and washers. However, I don't see how I will be able to tighten these down?

Ok here are my current issues:

1) The mounts come with holes for bolts. The outside hole I used the OEM bolt and threaded it back into the welded nut in the frame. The inside hold I need to attach via the included bolt, nut, and washers. I just was able to get them on but they are loose. Due to the tight space and being under the bushing I am not sure how I will be able to tighten these.

2) Next issue. I have followed the youtube and forum instructions but I cannot get the motor to lift. When I jack the bell housing the entire suspension goes up too. I have removed the bolts holding the passenger side from the frame.

If the engine is unbolted from the mount, the engine will lift up from that side when jacked up from that side. I cut a 2x4 to just fit between my floor jack and where the pan bolts to the block adjacent to the mount and jacked it up it from there. Worked great.

@Jerry Bransford Took your advice...I used the Jeep jack and a 2x4 to raise the drivers side. Here is how close I am. I think the passenger side mount is sticking to the frame.

Man I just dunno. I've done this job exactly twice in my life and it wasn't totally straight forward either time. To use a technical term I only got mine done after some serious messin' around with it lol.

@Jerry Bransford...got the jack out of my F150 to push the other side a bit. Loosened the drivers side frame mount and got the bolt in after some messing with it. Now I am working on the passenger side. Taking a beer break.

Still not sure about how to tighten the inside nut/bolt.

What an odd design, most have a stud on the inside. I've never seen those mounts in person but can you slide a wrench under the mount above the bolts across to the inside bolt from the top to hold it or is there part of the mount blocking you?

I fixed my shifter by going straight in and ordering Savvy under armor. 😬
Good job getting it lined up. I wrapped a wrench in a leather glove and stuffed it in the motor mount to get it to stay. 🍻

I'm sure you already have or know but a set of drift punches are mandatory for so many of these projects. Invaluable.

@WHBNM drift punches are new to me. Will add it to the toolbox. I do plan the Savvy Tummy Tuck along with a lift some time between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Ok @Jerry Bransford, here is my write up.

1) I highly suggest tack welding either the nut or the bolt on the motor side hole.
2) After supporting the bell housing, use jacks with 2x4s to line up the mounts to the holes.
3) Getting the drivers side mount with engine mount out is a bear. You've got the clear the welded on bolt from the frame. You then need to rotate along the motor until you get it back towards the rear.
4) If you are using magnetic flash lights and are suddenly missing washers...they are stuck to the bottom of the flashlight.
5) Ratchet extensions are your friend.
6) VERY thoroughly clear the engine bay...degrease it...clean it again. Thought my Jeep was clean...it wasn't.
