Jeep Wrangler PCM and module repair and replacement

All - I was going to replace the bulb for my underhood light. When taking off the plug to remove the bulb housing (was going to clean up a bit of the green corrosion off), it sparked. When I got it off, noticed exposed wires. That isn't a big deal, easy fix.

Problem is that it blew a fuse. Now my dome lights and instrument cluster lights aren't working as well as no power to the underhood light. When i turn key, flashes noFuse. Does anyone know which fuse # it would be? Is it more than one?

I thought the same thing, but they are the mini spade fuses. Can't really tell from looking, i couldn't anyways. Didn't want to start to pull them to check. :)

Dome light fuse is number 4 behind glove box. I take that one out when doors are off. Not sure about gauge cluster. Start pulling!
 
It's in the fuse box under the hood, I forget the number and size but I want to say it's marked accessory 2 or something under the cover. Open up the fuse box, look closely at the fuses and you should see one that looks different than the others. It will look black and burned up where the fused link is. If you cant tell from above, look at the diagram under the cover, make some educated guesses and start pulling, you won't hurt anything.
Fuse 4 behind the glove box isn't the fuse you're looking for, that's actually the fuse for your door switch, purpose being to be able to turn off dome lights with the doors off

It was fuse #26 (accessories) under the hood! Thanks so much for your help... -mike

Remove the hot lead to your battery in the future just to be safe. I know it's a pain but it removes the chances of an arc flash.

Safer, I guess. Necessary, absolutely not. Arc flash pulling a 10 or 20 amp fuse at 12v DC isn't going to happen. Although, my view on electricity may be a bit different as I work with 13,000 Volts every day.

You get "no fuse" intermittently where? Are you saying that message is displaying somewhere?
 
On the odometer. Sometimes I don't get it and the next day I do. No pattern to it. I assume there is a loose connection or wire somewhere.

I love my jeep but hate my electrical system
 
My '04 had that same issue but the only difference was I was blowing a fuse under the hood. My apologies but I can't remember which number off of the top of my head.

I would bet you most certainly have a short somewhere. Mine ended up being under the roll bar pad on the driver side.

All gloving for us. Our system is primarily 13kv with some 4kv still left way out in the boonies. For our distribution crews anyway. All the transmission work is contracted out these days.
