Hello all, I’ve been reading and reading which coils to go with. Between height, brand and all. I’ve narrowed it down to either Jks 3 inch coils , or BDS 3inch in front and 2 inch coils in the rear(from what I’ve read this seems the route a lot of you guys have been going and been happy with). Also will be doing Rancho 5000x shocks all around. My Jeep it’s an 04 lj with 3.5 inch metal cloak lift with 35 inch tires ( complete lift) including adjustable control arms, adjustable track back front and rear. Quick disconnect sway bar. Upgraded curries 1 ton steering. Sye kit with tomwoods rear driveshaft.(few other upgrades I’m probably forgetting lol) I have a hardtop with rear tire. Should I still opt for the 2 inch in the rear or stay with the 3 inch all around. If anyone has experience with my similar set up and can guide me the right direction I would really appreciate it. I’ve had the lift in since 2017 has been holding up great but will soon need to be changed.

What's wrong with the springs you have on it? It looks like it sits perfect the way it is. Don't go 3" front and 2" rear with a hard top LJ.
I live in the north east after 5 years they are starting to rust bad so looking to replace them end of summer. Thanks for the feed back.
Looking to stay around the same height which is why I’m going with the 3 inches. It’s getting around the time to change em out.
So if you like the current height and they're working well for you, why wouldn't you just buy another set of 3.5" coils from MetalCloak?
so initially I wanted to do 2.5 inches but couldn’t find the brands I wanted to go with. 3 inches seems to be the the ones I’m looking at. I know it seems I’m making a fuss over .5 inches but it’s the height I’m going with this time around. Again appreciate the feed back
JKS and BDS are both owned by the same parent company so I wouldn't be surprised if you're looking at the exact same coil when all is said and done.
My lift is incredibly pieced together at this point, different track bars, different shocks... I have Rough Country 2.5" coils in the front and BDS 3" coils in the back.
That’s good to know, did you get a true 3” with the BDS coils or was it more?
Lol nice, whatever works. I’m open to other suggestions for coils. It’s just those 2 seemed the more talked about for quality and price. So I narrowed it down for those 2 in this thread.
It's hard to say because I was coming from some sagging 2.5" springs at the time. I also just recently took a bunch of weight off the back of my rig. The 3" springs are working really well for me though.
Don't expect 3 inch springs to lift it exactly 3.00". Especially on an LJ. That spec is for some unspecified TJ with unspecified hard/soft top, etc. You might end up adding spacers here or there to get it level, or to the height you want.
Well yea I figured that much, just trying to get a gauge of how the lift will sit with my set up if anyone has something similar that has dabbled with those springs. I’m expecting it to be just about 3” and possibly 2.75” or less after settling in. Since I’ll be keeping the hardtop and tire on year round.
It's just a lot easier to just go with a 3.5" spring again because if you change that to 3" you'll have to adjust your trackbars, it will change the ride height of your shocks (which you are changing, but ride height and shock selection are directly correlated, so until you know the exact height your rig is at it's hard to pick the right shock). Of course, you can always go with a 3" spring like the JKS and it ends up giving you 3.5". Advertised lift heights are just suggestions. If you have a DC driveshaft and you're dropping the shaft could end up being too short and damaging your TCase. If you have rear adjustable control arms you'll have to adjust them to get the pinion angle right. Nice looking Jeep. IH8RUST
I appreciate all the feed back from everyone. I’ve taken all the adjustments into consideration I already installed sye kit so I have a cv driveshaft. I have adjustable control arms all around. I definitely agree that lift height is a vague number. Im still making decisions but honestly I may end up going with 2” lift either jks or BDS. Thanks you got a nice looking rig to man.
