Help with OME rear track bar relocation bracket

Thanks for taking a look at this.

I’m working on installing the rear of my Old Man Emu heavy duty 2” lift on my 2005 Rubicon.

Please help confirm for me that this rear track bar relocation bracket is a joke.

I have installed the bracket to the axle. The sway bar is disconnected and the axle droops far enough that I can easily remove the springs without the compressors I have sitting nearby.

I don’t see how this track bar is going to line up.

For one I’m not canting my rear axle to line up the driveline, so it looks like the angled bracket will twist the track bar, not to mention the fight it will be to get it in there.

More importantly, the track bar already isn’t lined up. If I compress the axle up it only gets further out of alignment with the new location and right into the stock location. I’m not even compressing it nearly enough to get the frame of the jack stands.

I attached two photos. The first is the axle and alignment of the track bar at fully droop.

The second is the axle under load, maybe compressed close to coming off the stands, but the bar will still travel to the left more when the whole Jeep is on 4 wheels.

if I look from the rear the axle looks lined up left to right, and the sway bar links look ready to go back in their mounts.

I think I don’t need this dumb bracket, which should come with longer bolts and holes accurate to the size they say to drill them to. Please help me decide what I’m doing tomorrow. For now, time for a beer or two.

You have the bracket installed sideways, it should be pointing up. if you rotate it to the left (driver side) you’ll see how much more snug (and flush with the housing) it fits with everything.

Best to do one arm at a time if possible. If you had all the control arms in you would probably have seen how to install the bracket. Happens to me frequently when I get ahead of myself taking things apart without putting some back. Glad it was an easy fix. A lot of guys would have just gotten a bigger prybar and forced the axle over.👍
