I have an 06 x with 92,000 miles on it.
It had 62,000 on it when i bought it. And it has a 4" zone lift on it. Put on by previous owner. No major problems on carfax or since ive owned it. Ok so now the problem i was driving home tonight from class and what feels like the front end started vibrating when i pulled on to the hwy. Not death wobble bad. But like mud caked in the rims vibrating. So i took a shot in the dark and put it in 4hi and the vibrating stopped. So my question is what do i need to check tomorrow?
Im sorry for the long post just trying to give you guys enough info to hopefully point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Grease the front u joints joints if they have fittings ..if that doesn’t help ...

Pull the front drive shaft. If it drives smooth then, take the shaft to a good drive shaft shop and get all spicer joints if those are loose or dried out. If they fall apart when the shaft comes out , that’s likely the cause.

When you put it in 4 high you torque loaded them and likely took the slop out (as in pulling them one direction...the slop is still there )

Anyway , this is a good starting point . It can be other things , but take it one at a time and don’t throw parts at it.

Is your front driveshaft bent? Loose?

It was my rear shaft. The the ujoint cap busted and broke most of the ear off the yoke on the end that goes to the transmission. Now does anyone have a rear driveshaft they want to get rid of?

I got it fixed. No vibrations at all now. Replaced both ujoints in rear driveshaft. They were both shot. And we got the piece of the missing yoke welded up. Thanks for help guys.

Boy, I think I'd start saving up for a new yoke. That is one location I wouldn't want a weld on. But glad you found the problem before it broke loose.👍
