How do you get the Forward Yoke nut off??

I'm doing a SYE and I've got everything broken down accept the front yoke. The nut isn't budging. I'm using an impact wrench with 300 ft lbs of torque. It'd not budging even after 3 days of PB Blaster.

Am I missing something?

Turning it the right way? If so

More torque or more impact

600ft lbs of break away should be way more than enough and yes lefty loose. I know what I'm doing for the most part.

I used a large (like 36") pipe wrench to hold the yoke and a breaker bar (around 24") to bust it loose. Wasn't too big of a deal but had to work hard! Are you dropping the case to do the SYE or leaving it in?

You don’t need to undo that nut to do an sye.

I've already dropped it. I didn't think it would be an issue with applying that much torque to get it off

I just finished replacing mine and removed that yoke with it on the floor. I put the pipe wrench on the floor under the yoke and broke it loose fairly quickly putting my weight behind that breaker bar.

Ya if I had a drive shaft wrench I though about putting my jacks bar that's 4 and a half feet long on it. LoL Still 600 ft lbs should have done it
