A protective coating of zinc oxide can be done to frames since JEEPS still have them. Frame will out the last body, but if like scraping your jeep on rocks don't waste your money. If you beach drive go for it.

Obviously what you can see starting on the tub is huge for prevention, but its what you cant see! The other day I spent 4 hours getting the dust and rust fragments out with compressed air, a shop vac, and magnet. Beat on the frame to free up the fragments and blow them towards drain holes. These rusty fragments and dust sit on the bottom of the frame and hold moisture. Its a pain and not a job that will turn heads, but it will save you expensive and skilled fab repairs. I have a 99 TJ that doesnt see winter and I pulled out prolly 10lbs worth of fragments and dust. Painting your frame from the outside is a waste of time and money unless this process is done. Eastwood makes a internal frame coating also to preserve the inner frame. Again, all the fragments and dust must be removed and inside needs to be dry to apply product. It comes with a long wand and special nozzle to apply from frame holes.

I used Eastwood internal frame coating back on the inside of the frame and just last week fluid filmed just about everything underneath I could see, minus the brakes.

Hopefully it will hold up. My plan for next year is to put a drain hole in before the rear frame arch.

Ya the later model TJ' s had additional holes drilled in the arches. The earlier frames did not. I drilled 5/8" holes in my frame which is what the hole size is on the later frames. They are 5" behind the lower control arm mount on the front, and 5" in front of lower control arm mount on rear. When i drilled mine the front drivers side hole leaked water out instantly.
