How do you use your 42RLE overdrive?

Some have wired theirs to automatically send an OD off signal to the PCM when the shifter hits reverse, like when being shifted from park to drive.

I’ve never understood that mod. The signal from the switch toggles the OD from off, to on, to off, etc. Drive for a while, back, up, go forward, reverse, and suddenly you have no idea if the OD is on or off - and then have to check it to see if it’s on or off. To me, it is much easier just to shut it off when you first start it up.
