I’ve been trying to remove a very old sticker from the hood of my TJ. I’ve tried goof off, wd40, windex, scrappers!!! I cannot get this sticker completely off!! Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!!

I recently removed a large decal from the hood of my jeep. I used a heat gun and a plastic scraper. Went pretty well! I would suggest being very careful with the heat gun, it can get hot enough to burn the paint. I put the heat gun on the low setting and used it similar to a hair dryer. After a few seconds I would take the plastic scraper and start working on the edge that had been heated. Used some "Goo-b-gone" to remove the rest of the adhesive.
I guess it’s somewhat coming off. Very very slowly. I’ve got to get ready for work. Will continue the battle tomorrow.
The newer stickers that were on mine came off very easily. I just got a corner started and they peeled right off. This very old sticker ....not so much!!
Yeah. I have been debating on repainting the entire jeep. But thats a lot of work.

I saw this when I googled how to remove stickers but wasn’t sure about it. Thanks.
X2 to the blow dryer. Heat it up good, then just peel off. If you’ve done something to wear down the surface of the decal, or the edges, it might not work as well, and may tear more often. But it actually works very easily. Then use alcohol to clean up the area so there’s no ghosting of the old decal.
Bought my daughter a 20 year old Mazda B-4000 for her 1st car. It had the stripe/graphics package that was pretty worn and I had to remove it.
1. Heat gun. Heat up the decal and it might pull off pretty good by hand. If not, use a plastic scrapper.
2. If this doesn't work, use an eraser wheel. I think it worked pretty good.
3. Acetone for all the residue that is left behind. This was the hardest part of the job. Rub rub rub.
4. Cut and buff to match.

I have used the hair dryer trick for stickers, and dental floss works great for badges. Then zippo lighter fluid to get off the old adhesive.

There’s a 3M adhesive remover rubber wheel that attaches to a drill. Removes the funk that keeps trim on vehicles.

When I got my Jeep, I peeled off 33 stickers with a cheap hair dryer, GooGone and a roll of paper towels. It took me a couple of days too.
Be careful with a heat gun....it is effective...but you can blister paint.
The problem with most decals is the adhesive remover can’t penetrate the vinyl to attack the adhesive.
Sometimes go-jo hand cleaner works well, but it can attack some paints , especially single stage paints .
We 40 and a micro fiber towel is good for the residue usually.

Hair dryer was not working for me . I went back to a razor blade and very very carefully removed the sticker. Then I still couldn’t get the adhesive off. I looked at the rubber wheels which probably would have worked but my MC front fenders cover a bit of the area where the sticker is. So I didn’t think I could get the wheel between there. I went with a adhesive eraser. Same thing as the wheel but small and done by hand . It is working wonderfully. Still time consuming though. As you can see in picture the eraser took off the “ance” great...... still a lot left .
In Hindsight I should’ve just gotten the wheel and popped the hood to get those other areas 
Try 3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover. It works pretty well with a plastic scraper (ice scraper works too). Let it sit a couple minutes and let it work it’s magic. Good luck!
