Given all the problems those those things keep having, it’s clear that someone is slacking off on the assembly line
Don't get me wrong, all I need is their quality control. For all their other issues... they can have it. I was there in the 90's and they were learning the "Deming's Philosophy". Deming is an American (our guy) who made a speech there and said, America do not want his propaganda, and so he went to Japan to sell the idea.I am not sure I would trade our "problems" for Japan's, or virtually any other country's. Japan is demographically old, and needed robots early on. Its low unemployment rate is more the result of having very low birth rates for decades now. Demographically, Japan is screwed.
It is also a country heavily in debt (highest debt to GDP ratio in the world) with per capital share of the national debt nearing $100k EACH. The currency is propped up by the state banks, which are tightly controlled by the government. Monetarily, Japan has major issues.
More subjectively, its virtually homogeneous society has resulted in (by some measures) a closed culture. Japan is not an entirely pleasant place to live for a non- Japanese/ non-native- never personally lived there but world traveled execs I know label it the most racist culture they have experienced, especially toward fellow Asians.
Close - UAWSure glad the robots were working....looks like a lot of the humans really didn't want to be there. One guy on his cell phone...a lot standing around. Looked like a government operation.

Japan is the only country (that keeps such records) where adult diapers now outsell baby ones.I actually read a couple of articles recently in which they were trying to design “robots” to help with their growing elderly population.
Also, their suicide rate is higher than ours last I checked....

The door knobs of the JL is too typical carlike thingy. That draws the line for me.I'll let you know how the JL is. My current ship date is 8 December!
The door handles? They don't bother me. I actually hate the TJ ones. They just feel backwards to me.The door knobs of the JL is too typical carlike thingy. That draws the line for me.
You don't understand. I bought a '16 Renegade and they have the same handle as the JL (both made by FCA Italian Vendor). It broke one freezing winter. It is too flimsy plasticky. It happened when the entire door does not open and was frozen shut. As a normal reaction the only way is to yank the handle outward with a great force. There it snapped! The door handles? Lol well he just might....That was when I was at work in the parking lot. But you're right, I wonder if the guard has a hair drier lol.
