I don't want to be here anymore...

I could spend my days bitching about everything going on in Florida like all the other old people here but I got better things to do.

Hopefully I'll be dead and buried before a Democrat becomes governor in Florida.

That's what I'm hoping for too - to cack off before this bullshit has gone too far. I figure I have about 21 years. I'm just so sick and tired of the nanny state and the Karens. I had a choice yesterday, either shut up and put up, or beat the crap out of this asshole and end up on the evening news. Instead, I told him he was obviously a Biden voter and let it go. My HPs will be proud of me when I report this to her as she's been working with me on letting go of a lot of crap I've been carrying around.

I'm tired of fake people, shallow people, superfluous people. Never mind rude, self entitled and self righteous Karens.

Sounds very bitter. It's difficult to learn but possible: You need to get rid of your hatred on your own - because the only one affected by it will be you. The person you hate may not even know about your feelings. The anger does not help you, not does it make anything better.

I feel the same way. You just have to let it go and/or actively avoid it. Cause there's no way everyone's just going to change cause you told them to

Oh so very true. My HPs is helping with the letting it go, and I do my best to avoid "it" by simply not going out somewhere unless I have to. It just seems that "they" are EVERYWHERE. My wife blames COVID - and there certainly is a huge difference now. People just don't care and are very angry.

The beating. People who talk don’t act.

True that too - but I was sure tempted there for a moment and had to control the urge - and I'm most definitely NOT the type to do something like that, it was a bit alarming that the thought crossed my mind. Arrogant self-righteous little prick. What's the term for a male Karen?

Speaking of "I don't want to be here any more"..

It'd sure be weird if somebody found this van, welded the doors shut and boarded the windows and it mysteriously burned to the ground...

It seems that there are a shit-ton of people like this "out there" now.

Another pre-emptive action I take - what with @speeding_infraction 's very pertinent post above: I take the slow, "back" way to one of my dance classes. If I follow the entire route, it takes me right about an hour to get there, over low speed (!!) back roads that even includes a 100+ year old drawbridge. If I take the "medium" route, its 45 minutes, or the freeway is 35. I'd rather arrive relaxed and happy, not all pissed off from all the fools on the road, never mind just plain old heavy traffic which is a lot worse these days. I avoid all of it by taking the scenic route. And I've learned to stay off the freeway if there is anything even vaguely resembling rain going on - its guaranteed the Florididiots will have the freeway fucked up within 10 minutes if its raining.

The "other" dance class isn't nearly as hectic to get to, but even there I'm increasingly taking the back way to get there as well - it adds about 10 minutes.

Any society is going to have problems. It's the cycle of strong men -> easy times -> weak men -> hard times. Different places are in different points on that cycle. You can leave but the problems will just be different. We're in the easy times -> weak men phase so those in power have to invent problems to solve so they can stay relevant and gain more control.

I for one think that the FDA should enforce a higher bar for drug approval, one that isn't incentivized financially by the drug maker, because that prevents the drug maker from harming the public. I also think that if someone is dumb enough to drive around with their own or someone elses kids in the back of a pickup in an area where they're likely to be seen by law enforcement (because it's an area with traffic and phone-distracted idiots), then I think law enforcement SHOULD step in and prevent that driver from harming those kids. Seat belt laws keep you in the seat and potentially able to reassume control of the vehicle after the collision until coming to a stop...keeping you from harming other drivers or pedestrians. I don't take issue with any of this stuff and I don't buy for one second that it affects anyones quality of life.

What I do have a problem with is that we live in a crony-capitalist oligarchy disguised as a capitalist republic, with a multi-tiered justice system and an entire society built around producing good little workers that will slave away for the best years of their lives to funnel infinite resources up to a handful of powerful Epstein associates. But compared to anywhere else in the world, it still produces the highest standard of living by every meaningful measure.

Well, I'm going to have to disagree about kids in pickups and seat belt laws. That nanny state bullshit can fuck right off - I'm beyond sick of it. And the answer to smartphone bullshit isn't more nanny statism to compensate for a situation that shouldn't exist in the first place. That's the same though process that mandated backup cameras.

With that said, I agree with the rest of your post. I think my main "problem" is people as I've said before. Rude, effete, shallow, self righteous and self entitled Americans - blah, blah, blah. "Over there", the people just seem to be more "real", if that makes any sense. Our whole society is toxic and fake - that drives me nuts. What kind of car do you drive and how new is it? Does it have whatever-the-latest-effete-garbage on it? How new and big is your house? And of course, what kind of PHOOOOOONNE do you carry? First question out of any American's mouth: "What do you do for a living?". So fucking fake and materialistic. I also felt safer in Egypt than I have in the US in decades.

I mean shit - Americans get all worked up over something to do with a "notch" in the screen of their smartphones. How fucking shallow can you get? WGAS! I feel like I'm on the wrong friggin' planet, or at least on the wrong side of it.

And what does THAT have to do with the price of beans? Like I said, fake and materialistic. The last fucking thing I want to talk about is my job when I'm not on the clock. Let's talk about Jeeps or Belly Dancing, or Hell - the price of beans...

You might be in the wrong area, at least in CO that is not typically the first topic of conversation. It's much more about what people enjoy doing. Because I agree, I have little interest in talking about work outside of it unless there's something really interesting going on that is more broadly worth sharing.

@Zorba, I thought the title of this thread meant you wanted to be dead. 🤣

I pretty much agree with @freedom_in_4low. I'm all for kids riding in the back of a pickup truck in small towns and rural areas. Not so much in cities and high traffic areas. Same goes for seat belts. But hey, I agree with the thrust of what you say @Zorba, just try not to let your anger affect your judgment and quality of life. We're just like you, taking the long route rather than the short high traffic one. Going on trips during the week when places are less crowded rather than on the weekends. We're always trying to find where people aren't not where people are. I wish I lived in a rural area again. Living in town is mindless. I agree that people are shallow. Most every conversation is totally surface stuff about the weather or basketball or where they went to eat or what they are doing this weekend. There's nothing interesting. People are effete because they are empty and trying to fill that void with some imagined self-importance by having the latest and greatest gadget, car, and God forbid phone! My .02c.
