I don't want to be here anymore...

Just based on your comments about the people you run into, it doesn't sound like Florida is even the best place to live in the southeast US, let alone the world. The interactions you complain about are for the most part specific to life in areas with too many people.

I agree. I go to Florida occasionally with family on vacation (haven't been in a few years though), and it's nice but the warm weather seems to attract all sorts of people. I live in a small college town, the kind where you know all your neighbors, wave to people you pass driving on the street (not just Jeeps ;)), and could probably leave your doors unlocked. There are shitty people everywhere, but some places seem to have higher concentrations of them.

Problem with small towns is they often can't handle anything/anyone that differs from their baseline - which I certainly do. Mindless Conformity to Meaningless Convention.

You might like it here. We are pretty much, go along and get along.

We mind our business and the neighbors mind their's.

I don't agree.

Do something about the FUCKING SMARTPHONES that are causing all the crashes first, then we'll talk. Until then, its hypocritical posing.

Why do you disagree? What are the points of disagreement?

My wife had an accident in January and no DUMBPHONES were involved. 🤣

Cheers brother.

Yet , endless opportunity and " every opinion is equally valuable" is the breader reactor of "assholism ". Rural folks tend to not need 24/7 entertainment or amenities options . They are the folks that are comfortable in their own skin. Most of the time you will find rural folks are pretty tolerant of people way different from them , (As long as you aren't a totally idiot) . I can appreciate how a straight male belly dancer can push a lot of buttons ! May the wind be at your back as you wade through this Zorba .

Well, I'm going to have to disagree about kids in pickups and seat belt laws. That nanny state bullshit can fuck right off - I'm beyond sick of it. And the answer to smartphone bullshit isn't more nanny statism to compensate for a situation that shouldn't exist in the first place. That's the same though process that mandated backup cameras.

With that said, I agree with the rest of your post. I think my main "problem" is people as I've said before. Rude, effete, shallow, self righteous and self entitled Americans - blah, blah, blah. "Over there", the people just seem to be more "real", if that makes any sense. Our whole society is toxic and fake - that drives me nuts. What kind of car do you drive and how new is it? Does it have whatever-the-latest-effete-garbage on it? How new and big is your house? And of course, what kind of PHOOOOOONNE do you carry? First question out of any American's mouth: "What do you do for a living?". So fucking fake and materialistic. I also felt safer in Egypt than I have in the US in decades.

I mean shit - Americans get all worked up over something to do with a "notch" in the screen of their smartphones. How fucking shallow can you get? WGAS! I feel like I'm on the wrong friggin' planet, or at least on the wrong side of it.

First, We ALL need to vent sometimes, it's normal and healthy. Holding in too much anger for too long, will eventually manifest wrong. (I let out 40yrs on my last deployment and quite possibly committed a war crime or two...) so get it out (within reason.)

Second, Damn, never noticed you're only 2 hours north of me. So, id you're going to Jeep Beach this year, I'll buy you a beer and put a face to the name. 🍻🍻🍻

5" 1911 or XDM , the ergonomics really work for me.

Can't hate on a 1911! I didn't love my XD but I had one of the first years they were out, so I'm sure the -M is great.
My dad is too, and I was an HK guy, but I decided I wanted to move over to Glock and have just started with a 43x! 🙂

I have one and love the grip length but had to swap out the trigger. The OEM one dug into my finger too much!

What's funny is my daughters both like the XD over the XDM. I think women don't care for the more aggressive " checkering " molded in the grip and slide as it's rougher on their hands . The good thing is there's something for everyone !
