I need to replace my TJ radiator

So I chose my own path don't hate on me but I did the Mishimoto. Came packaged really well with welded pans, rubber isolaters, and stainless bolts for everything. I slotted the shroud for the future tummy tuck while I had it off anyways. Early temperature reading wont be fair since a cold front blew in yesterday. Ill let everyone know how it comes out this summer when we hit 110 degrees. Fit was absolutely perfect. Price was a little steep at 450 but it was that or the AFE at 550 and my goal was to try to stay under 400 (I know I went a little over).

Some people have good luck with them. Hopefully you will too! Keep us posted!

I wouldn’t hesitate to run a Koyorad either.

There actually are more people running Denso radiators in hot environments with no issues than those who have had issues. Really, there is mainly one very vocal and angry poster around here who makes the claim based on his sample size of one.
You keep saying that, that still doesn't make it true. My sample is not the only one nor is my experience with failed stuff in the TJ. Stop being a fuckwit.

Why can't we have good lifetime radiators?
Because the TJ cooling system is being stressed a lot more than most systems. The upper tank fails due to steam erosion for reasons I don't understand. I've never seen or heard of a lower tank failing due to normal wear which sort of explains the steam factor.

If it matters, I've got several in the area now with Denso and Koyorad. They are starting to have issues now that it is starting to get hot. We'll see if they make it through the summer.

Im curious how this one does through Summer. August - early September will be my big test 110 plus for 4-6 weeks. Ever since automakers started putting crimped plastic tanks on I have hated it.

It would be very pleasant if we could get folks to understand that I derive nothing from which radiator any one uses. Them that pull their heads out of their asses know that we've been discussing a suitable replacement for the Mopar versions for at least a decade. We all knew this day was coming and we need something that is not intolerably expensive that works where it is hot. I nor anyone else should care where that comes from as long as it works and we can justify the effort to install it.

I don't, by and large they work very well, good for at least 100,000 miles typically. That's reliable enough to be useful. If we was smart folk, we'd find a way to improve the tanks on the same core. Bottom tank is fine, leave it be. Beef up the upper with some more thickness or a tougher fiber reinforced plastic and see if that helps.

Couldn't agree more. I as most should prefer American made but Ill try anything of good quality. I dont usually mind spending the extra for better quality. I almost reached out to you to see if you wanted to sell one of yours then figured hell you prolly have those for your local customers and personal stock so I went my own way.

I guess looking at it that way makes good sense. Ive just seen radiators last so much longer. Mine died after 120K so that being said 120K for 450 dollar radiator we shall just have to see.

If you were local and in dire need, I could sell one. Sadly, most of them are in the 500 range and while I don't like that, I will use it for myself. I can't sell them and then ship them. Puts the cost way too high and I really don't think that is a good thing. It is difficult to ship one and get it there damage free. The packing for that takes way too long, is way too much effort and I'm not going to do that for free. We'd almost be better off to drop it off at a UPS store, insure it with their silly packing fees and put it all on them to get it there.

The problem is 450 bucks should get us custom, super high quality, no questions asked performance and reliability that is better than OEM. We've spent more, we've yet to exceed any parameter of the OEM version with a single exception and I'm not doing that again. I'd probably be less irritated if I hadn't bought so many of them for 140-150 bucks.
