Does anyone know how to replace your key lock and have the key match the original key so the door locks and new ignition use the same key

My key lock is bad
I can remove the key in any position except the engine running position

What is the condition of the key? You can buy a new ignition lock cylinder and a wafer kit and "rekey" the new cylinder to match the existing lock cylinders.

Usually the key is just worn and the lock is fine.

I could pull the key out of my 300K mi YJ in any position. Got a new key made, works fine.

Wow!

I just had new keys made for the YJ and TJ due to worn keys. 300K and 267K mi on the OEM keys. OEM locks and ignition cylinders.

are the keys made from the pattern of the old key or through a key ID from the vehicle
If the key is worn doesn't the nee key have the worn shape

I had 2 keys made from my OEM key and they will also pull out

I had kept copes that I didn't use, so they keys were made from a key without any wear.

I think that they can correct for wear, you should be able to tell if your new ones are slightly different than your worn ones.
