Inner axle seal installation

I removed the inner axle seals on my 2000 tj 30 dana front axle.Cleaned everything and I am ready to install the new ones. I measured them and noticed there was quite a difference between the housing and the seal diameter. Housing is 2.120" and the new seal 2.128. I know on utube guys use 2 different methods of installation, I wanted to be able to do it by myself so I thought I would use the threaded rod and cap method. I can spin them up on my lathe. I know it has to be square but it seems like quite a difference. Anyone used both methods and had no problems.

Generally I just use a socket that fits and a hammer. Square em and tap them in.

I recall using my 36mm socket.

I used a 36mm on mine. Too easy.

36mm and a super long extension. Harbor freight has a 3 pack of extensions, you'll have about 6 miles of extensions for .38 cents.
