Installed Savvy control arms today

I replaced my ca.2004 Rubicon Express adjustable uppers and lowers today with Savvy aluminum arms. Super impressed with the build quality. Installation was pretty straightforward save for one UCA bolt fused to the RE Superide bushing. The old RE arms were absolutely shot. The metal housings surrounding the rubber bushings were even stretched oblong from the years of stress. A few of the Superflex joints were loose in their races.

The uppers were much harder to tighten with such little space to move a wrench, so I used a pipe wrench on the aluminum rods to get them as snug as possible, then centered all Johnny Joints in their mounts. I forgot what a stable TJ feels like to drive!

I also got a new top from Sierra Offroad to get ready for spring

I’m proud to be getting the old thing the attention it deserves. She turns 20 this summer but I still feel 16 when I drive it

Good choice in arms. I'm jealous! Someday I will have a set of those myself.

I put in some savvy uppers a couple weeks ago, found the same with tightening the jam nuts so like you, my solution was to hold the center section still with a pipe wrench. I will say that is the tradeoff vs a single adjustable arm, but the pinion angle adjustment was so ridiculously easy it's worth it.

I have rough country lower arms with almost worn out x-flex joints (only 15k miles and have ZERO preload). I think I'm gonna replace them with johnny joints soon, and when I feel like I need to replace the rubber bushings at the axle end I'm gonna cut them off and get some JJ's welded on.
