My house was built in 1963 - I knew when we bought it there'd be electrical issues. I've been fixing stupidity "the last guy" left behind ever since I moved in! Guy put on a janky extension, half the receptacles weren't grounded. The ground wire was there - and even connected to ground, just not connected at the receptacles. And so on...
