Is this the pinion seal?

Is this indeed the pinion seal on my 04 Rubicon front diff as in the whole thing... it came out with the yoke

That's just the actual seal. There's still the metal flange portion of the seal to remove.

Ok so replacing this seal will not stop the leak

Pinion seals are a pretty common problem. The rubber portion separated from that metal flange. You'll need to remove that metal flange and install the new pinion seal. The updated link I posted will explain it very well.

Yeah I found and read that a while back but ok I'll get new tomorrow ...had one bit didnt look like mine and took it back so at least I know they have it
