Jeeep 6x6 Build

6x6x6

And on the 6th day of 6x6 ownership the Lord sayeth “And let the Jeep have illumination!” and the Jeep lit up and all the deer trembled because another car with antique lights would illuminate them just before they were hit but not soon enough to brake for them.

And so then I shall be off to get an inspection because the blind now see at night. It truly is a miracle because I’m only marginally ok with wires…

So everything is done now????? lol

She made it to the inspection place!

She had no power to the OBD2 port….😡

All the CB’s are good. Even in death, the mice taunt me….

Back to the wiring board. It’s like a drawing board but filled with lost dreams, puppy tears and despair.

It’s only 105 degrees now so that’s better than the 107-109. No complaints here. 🥵🌝🔥

The 1899 was a neutral sensor on the transmission. 2 of the 3 wires were missing so I rewired that switch.

The Jeep fired right up and then wouldn’t shut off without disconnecting the wire even with the key out so I replaced the switch too.

It still wouldn’t shutoff.

It turns out the starter CB was hot wired to bypass that switch with a farm fix years ago.
The bright side is that I now know how to Hotwire a Jeep. Who knows when that will come in handy.

The problem with taking stuff apart to fix stuff is that you have to fix the stuff you took apart to get to the part you needed to first fix. Like Covid mandates, just when you think it’s over, it doesn’t ever end.

2 weeks to flatten the problems and get this Jeep back on the road…

I dropped the drive shaft for access to the neutral sensor.

Does anyone know if grease, or for that matter, needle bearings are important in U Joints? In case that answer is no, that was replaced as well. For now, I’m going to assume the other ones are probably A-Ok and only this one was neglected.

If anyone was curious about McKinney weather 2 weeks after my last weatherman post…

The good news is that I’m now saving on water because everything died and there’s no point in even trying anymore.

Great news! It didn’t take seatbelts to pass the safety inspection in Texas!

She’s on the road and legal!

Does anyone know what size bolt goes in that hole?
