If you can find a "tuner" forum (where they hop up their Civics and such) they will have thousands of ideas for you. Some of their vehicles will blow your mind.

What about ideas to freshen up interior? I have steering wheel upholster, seat covers, and painted dash in mind? ...

I think wool saddle blankets and cotton handle bar tape are pretty cool.

Do you have an overall style you like in life? In other areas of my building and assembling interests, what I gravitate to has been described as retro grouch. I think it often has a hardware store feel about it. Generally, I like materials and textures with inherent qualities.

Cotton handlebar tape for bicycles. Hockey sticks use something similar. It comes in many colors. Coat the tape with shellac afterwards. In this case, I wanted to cover up the GraBar.com imprinting on the handle, but it also works nicely on the steering wheel. The tape is really grippy, especially after the shellac.

Ribbons and lace are another option if the Jeep wants to feel pretty.

I love your saddle blankets. I wish i could find something even close to that in a tight seat cover.

Why shellac? Weather proofing?

There are a ton of companies out there with really nice digital dash stuff. Dakota Digital is the first that comes to mind. It won't necessarily be easy, but there is some cool stuff out there.

There is a fiber repair tape ar Home Depot , you apply then wet...you talk about tough . It’s black , and the water activates the adhesive , gets hard as a rock.

There are fitted covers available made out of a blanket like material. They aren't the same as the real thing. I used big blanket pins to secure mine. They have stayed put for nearly three years.
