It's possible they turned that 3.6 or 3.8 into a 4.0 by boring it out.

To each his own, but I'm not a fan of 4 door jk,s. Where I live, it seems like every bozo who would have liked an H2 ,buys these instead....another overpriced poser rig. That all have led light bars, big street tires, and the angry eyes thing over the headlights. Not to say the jk,s aren't capable wheelers, it's just that the demographic that's buying them up, for the most part, will never take them through a puddle, let alone wheel them. There's a few, and hats off to ya, but not many.

Most likely the owner didn't know which engine he/she has. At first glance I thought those large wagon wheels where the 'off' part. But that's just my taste talking out loud. [emoji1605]

4.0 screamin'!

That's worse than slapping 5.0 on a poser Mustang GT

It's amusing seeing Civic's or similar cars driving down the road with the Autozone "GT" badges on the back. Or with those badges that 'look' like engine cooling louvers, yet they literally have no function at all? And you see them all over the same civics or sometimes on pickup trucks.

Twin turbo intercooled supercharged Yugo GT!
And you could probably find one listed on Craigslist if you look long enough.

Ran across this on Facebook today...

My overall impression of having had a JK in my garage for a couple days is that it's way harder to work on than my TJ is. You can't even just bolt rocker guards up to the rockers, you have to contend with setting threaded inserts into the tub's outer skin (it has two layers) and hope you got them positioned correctly. When I went to look for the engine, I couldn't find it... it was apparently hidden behind/under large plastic things that had to be unbolted first in order to get to the engine.

The headlights don't operate via easy to work on conventional wiring & switch type circuits, there's a computer data bus that operates them. What? On a Jeep?

When I drove the lady's JK to the store & back to pick up something for it, it felt like I was driving a family fan. Its 3.8L V6 reminded me of driving an old underpowered family van. The whole experience was very un-Jeep like.

Maybe I'm just too old but I'll stick with my butt-simple to work on TJ. :)

I have had both the 3.8 and the 3.6. The 3.6 was much better, but like thousands of others, the #2 cyclinder had to be replaced. I like my TJ much better and have to agree with you.
