Thanks for this. Are these the same codes that would appear on the dash display if I flip the power on and off three times quickly? I ask because when I do that, I see a few two digit codes like 12 and 55, but those aren’t on your list.

No, these aren’t the same but I believe there is a thread for those codes in the resources section though.

On the 1997, the codes are different. 55 means report is complete, 12 means the battery was disconnected or power momentarily lost. Full list here and I think in the FSM.

Only 1997 and 2001-2006 can do the key trick. 1997s show the 2 digit OBD-I codes and the rest show 4 digit OBD-II P codes in the odometer display. If you use a code reader, all model years show 4 digit OBD-II P codes.
