Key Locked In Door on JK

The alarm went off, horn beeping, beeping, beeping, so I grabbed the key-fob and pushed the unlock button .... the lock button .... the remote start button and the beep, beep, beep continued.

I went to open the door and it was locked and not responding to the unlock button on the key-fob so I inserted the key into the door-lock, turned it, and not only did it not unlock but it froze in the unlock position and grabbed the key.
Now the key is firmly stuck in the door, so tightly it could be part of the door. No movement at all. So tightly there is no room to spray WD40 in the slot.

I got a wrench and as I approached the battery terminal the beeping stopped. But the key, is still stuck in the door and it won't budge.

HELP !

I would not use wd40. Try dry graphite.

Unfortunately if you can not turn it you might have to go inside the inner panel and see if it is bound up on something.

Assuming its your JKU

Well, I'll Be Hornswoggled!!

I just opened the passenger door, pushed the button to lock and then unlock the doors,
then I walked around an gently pulled the key out of the driver door!
You killed the gremlin that was holding your key in place. I will mourn for his loss.

If you encounter another remote/unlock/alarm issue, you might try unhooking the positive terminal on the battery. My JKR did that once, nothing worked electronically controlled by the remote or key. It took unhooking the battery to reset the computer. Only happened once...

The horn stopped when I threatened to disconnect the battery so I left it alone.
Are you saying that the key was held in the lock electronically?
Not necessarily. Just stating that resetting my battery fixed the issues with the remote not unlocking the door, or starting the Jeep. All the electronics on mine were dead...
