Lacking interest

My dad has had his 2003 rubicon posted for sale for roughly 6 months with little to no interest whatsoever. Has anyone else had this recently? I feel like I hardly see rubicons for sale and it’s unusual for such little interest.

It was posted on marketplace, autotrader, Craigslist, and one other place if I can remember. Asking price started at 11,000 but was dropped to 9,500.

It has 153,000 odd miles, hasn’t been driven for the past 2-3 years or so but kept up on maintenance. Driven once or twice yearly. All in working order, little to no rust for northeast. All factory equipment, small 2in OME lift, factory wheels, very original. Frame in good shape

That’s why I find it so odd. Maybe he isn’t trying hard enough as I can only relay what is told to me, but I think it’s really weird

Yeah that doesn’t sound right. 9500 for a decently clean higher mileage rubicon? I would buy it. I recently found one for my dad and he paid several thousand more.

In my opinion…price dictates demand and vice versa. TJ’s are in pretty high demand so if 4 people have already made the time to look at it and walk away…that should tell you something.

There’s definitely some frame corrosion that probably turned people off, but it’s certainly
Not “toast”. It may need some safe-t-cap repair in the future, but it’s definitely salvageable from what I can tell in the pictures. I’d be willing to bet the trans mount/skid plate bolt
Holes are pretty rusted out and you can see some corrosion through the frame holes. Ask your dad to have a look/feel around inside. I’m sure there’s some rust chips

Price seems reasonable given the high mileage and condition of the undercarriage. I lived in Philly and had a hard time finding rigs without frame rot.

If the interior is presentable and the inside of the frame rails aren’t rotten then it seems appropriately priced. Maybe people are just broke and unable to spend money on toys like they did a couple years ago.

Looks like frame rot to me and a bad paint job to cover it up.

That frame is toast, and any frame that needs safetycaps is still toast. Torque boxes at body mounts look like they’re hiding some nice surprises as well. GLWS at that price point.
