My inspiration for the design was to keep the Jeep Tail light look but move it closer to the body so they don't get broken as easily. That and I despise round tail lights on Jeeps and I don't like cutting a hole in the body to install any light. Once you define that criteria, it's pretty easy to see why the Savvy stuff is the way it is.well, they are anodized billet aluminum housings. so they just up the quality about ten fold over the plastic boxes
I like that they don't lose the look of the traditional jeep lights, I don't really care for the look of most LED tail lights for that reason
but I grew up driving 70's era CJ's, so that may have something to do with my tastes towards how Jeeps should look

The pair of housings is well over a hundred bucks per pair once you get them ready to glue the side marker light in. The marker lights starts as DOT compliant markers and then get machined to fit. It all adds cost and the lights aren't for everyone. If you have the need, you'll figure out pretty quickly how they solve your problem.
