I’m looking for rear bumper recommendations. I do not want a bumper/tire carrier. I have a Rugged Ridge Spartacus and plan on sticking with it. The problem is that the bottom of my 33” spare hits my stock bumper. Rugged Ridge solves this issue with a carrier that angles the tire so the bottom is far enough out that it doesn’t hit the bumper. I can’t stand how this looks. Plus the bottom of the tire is over 7 inches away from my tailgate. Can’t be good for the tailgate

I can buy a bumper that has the cutout for the oversized tire. Not crazy about the selection. What rear bumpers are those of you with the exogate, Spartacus etc using?

The Savvy aluminum rear bumper looks like it would be close enough to the tailgate where it would not cause problems with the tire. I can’t seem to get them to call me back. Anyway, please give me some ideas. Thank you

I’m running the Barnes 4x4 base with a hitch receiver and step welded on. They come flat so you have a blank slate to build from.

My brother has a 33 in his stock carrier with the Barnes bumper plate and a 1.25 body lift. I’ll see if I can get some pictures for you.

I have a 33 with the rugged ridge tire carrier stock height and stock bumper. Good amount of clearance. Will likely reinforce it sometime but for now it works.

Is the bottom of your tire above the bumper or does the carrier hold the tire out far enough away from the gate so the bumper isn’t an issue?

I can take a picture when I get home. i just installed it. If I recall it holds the tire pretty close to the vehicle but slightly out from the bumper.

Some photos on amazon show the tire just over the bumper. I agree with you I dont like the tire angled up.

I run the Savvy rear bumper with the MORyde system https://www.morryde.com/products/tailgate-reinforcement-2/
and with 35's I have no clearance issues

I run Kurt Davis' bumpers, he is the owner of a small shop called KD Fabworks. I do not have a body lift but am running 30" tires at the moment and there is 3.5" of space between the bottom of the tire and the top of the bumper, so a 33" should easily fit.
