Imho, any thief who actually wants your doors will just remove the 6 bolts instead. And if your doors are locked they'll have to anyway.
It might be due to my location and that I tend to be within a few hundred feet of my Jeep when traveling, but I run my doors nutless and phillips head bolts on the hinges (and many other places). If I'm worried about a "quick grab" I'll lock them to make the doors a few seconds longer to take off.

I often drive with my top off and doors on. I’m moving to a bigger city. Where I live now there’s very little crime. I don’t want to take big chances then. I realize anyone who is dedicated can steal them. Just wanting a little extra security. Wondering if anyone has tried these. These look like they have a key, similar to a wheel lock.

You get 4 instead of 2, but anyone with an allen wrench can loosen them.
The truth is if they want it bad enough, then they will steal it. Best theft prevention is keeping things inside where thieves cannot drive by and view your items.

I have them also they work great. I agree you can also remove the hinge bolts but it takes a lot more time to remove 12 bolts than 4 that all you need is a crescent wrench or a pair of pliers.
For half doors? Yes! Those suckers are so hard to find in good shape with matching panels in good shape.
Here. Well, to be totally transparent, Jeep half doors but not off my TJ.
Do I win a pair of replacements? Insurance was unable to find a matching set in the same condition.

As someone who has their doors stolen before on a previous TJ, I bought these when I got my next one. The guy that stole my doors on previous TJ took the door hinge nuts off in a Wal Mart parking lot in a couple of minutes while I ran into pick up a prescription. I’d like to think these things, the McGard Locks, will at least delay or cause a thief to rethink the matter of stealing my doors.

They prevent the door from being lifted off the hinge. I had them keyed the same as the other Tuffy stuff I had. Pretty secure, but again, if thieves want something, they'll find a way to take it. I haven't wanted any since.

I have those; in fact, I bought TWO sets, each "keyed" differently - I have the key-sockets stamped U for upper and L for lower, and keep them locked in the back...
I've THOUGHT about R&R'ing the hinge bolts with Locktite red, but even *I* feel like that's a bit too OCD for ME - and that's SAYING something, LOL...

That's when I bought mine, I was going to Moab for a week and it would be parked out in the parking lot of the hotel every night. I know jeepers would never steel from another jeeper, but someone else might knowing how easy they are to steel and to sell.
I have heard of people disconnecting the inside locks, so you only can unlock the doors with your key from outside. I was thinking of doing it, but haven't thought it out all that much. My area isn't high theft. Just the nickel and dime types, not people running around taking whole doors.
I have these on my Jeep but some have a different thread size- which I can't find a way to remove it as the key doesn't fit that one...
I like the idea, i just wish they sold them in packs of 4s so all the nuts would match. I also like the idea of disabling the inside lock... I'd just have to walk around to unlock the passenger door as well. No biggie, I can use the extra steps.
