Locks intrchangable

This is probably a stupid question, but can anyone confirm if the door locks from half doors will work in full doors?

I picked up a pair of mis-matched full doors and after a day of fiddling with them, they're on the 97 TJ and fit well. Since neither had locks to begin with, and I don't anticipate using the stock half doors any time soon, I'm hoping I can just swap the locks from the half doors into the full doors.

Can this be done?

Yes, it's very easy. Once you get the door panel off, you'll see that the lock cylinder is only held in place by a slide-in clip retainer. Slide the clip retainer off to the side with a screwdriver and the lock is free to come out after you release the control rod from it. There's a little plastic retainer gizmo you rotate off the rod (if I remember correctly) that releases it from the lock.
