More old tools

Second name that tool thread of the day.

My dad gave me these random tools, most of which are probably at least 50 years old. I took the Philips head with the ⅜ socket and the humongous flathead with ½ socket just because they were unique (to me anyway).

The tool I'm most interested in is the breaker bar. I've never seen one like this. I'm wondering what sort of situations one of these might come in handy for? Stubborn bolts in tight spaces?

I've had a few of the breaker bars, couldn't tell you where I got them or where they are today.

I remember putting a cheater pipe on one of them and noodled the bar..

I have a set of Mac Tools 3/4" drive sockets that includes a breaker bar like that. Believe it or not I bought that set at a yard sale about 35 years ago for $5. They go up to 2". Is yours a 1/2" or a 3/4" drive?

It's a ½ inch.

I have my Dad's old shiny aluminum Sears Craftsman circular saw and sander. It was all made in America then.

I was curious myself so I Googled it, one guy said you break the fastener loose with the traditional bar then switch to the cross bar or "Tommy Bar" he calls it to spin the fastener off with speed. (see post #7 in link below) I'm sure this stuff was used on heavy equipment where there was a lot of room to spin one.
