Just a real quick question on this... I did a 1.25” body lift about a year ago and since I blew my radiator the other day I thought I’d put the MML spacers I’ve had laying around in while I had some more room to work, mostly to get the fan shroud back to where it’s supposed to be and gain a little oil pan clearance.

2 things..

1. The body lift came with a little bracket I had to use to relocate the transfer case shift linkage, should I return it to stock location now? This is on an LJ so a little different angle involved.
2. I removed the bolts from motor mounts to frame (one from top one from bottom). Loosened the 4 nuts in the middle of the skid plate. But when I jack up the engine under the oil pan it lifts the whole front end. What am I missing???

It’s not a different angle between the two, the LJ is only different behind the seats so the angles and everything from the transmission support forward are the same.

I don’t think you’d want to return it to stock though because you’re not removing that whole gap. But really I’d recommend getting a cable shifter to remove all that from any concern - the oem linkage is a bit clunky and finicky. You can make it work but it may be some trial and error with this change.

It will raise a little since you’re unloading the springs. Does the motor separate at all if you go a little higher, or does it keep bringing up the whole front end? And just to be clear, I assume you’re working on just one side with those bolts removed?

The instructions say to do the passenger side first so to be specific I loosened but didn’t remove the drivers side bolts completely. Stopped before the front tires were off the ground but it seemed like something was in a bind big time. its possible I didn’t go far enough, will look at it again tomorrow.

I can’t think of anything this would likely bind on, but be careful going further just in case. I remember having a few issues doing mine but it was a while ago now so it’s foggy.
