Need help and suggestions on wheels

Hello all.....new to this site; after 10 years without a Jeep, I'm finally back in the saddle with a 2000 Sahara.

Just had a quick question, if someone can point me in the right direction: I'm going to put some AR23's on some BFG's KO2 (31 x 10.5 x 15). I forget if the 7" or 8" rim is what I had on a 1998 TJ sport many years ago. I think it was the 8" but the site asks for either 4.5mm or 19mm offset (think that's correct). At any rate, was going to lift the Jeep @ 2" as well, neither here or there, but I like seeing a deeper rim from the outside which I suppose is the lesser offset, or pushes the wheel more outward. Do any of you have any recommendations and will this keep the centerline of the tires directly over the wheel bearings?

Don't know what to tell you other than the 8s are really popular. Here is what I have. 2 inch OME w 31x10.5x15 on 8s with 3.75 Backspace.

On a TJ we usually talk in terms of backspace, rather than offset. You want a wheel with 3.75-4” of backspace. The less backspace the deeper the dish and the farther out your tires will be.

Yes, get an 8” wheel.

Not too many are concerned with offset when it comes to Jeep wheels. The biggest issue is backspacing, in order to keep larger (wider) tires from making contact with the control arms at full steering lock. I don't believe having the wheels centered over the wheel bearings is something to be overly concerned about. I think 8" wide AR23 wheels with those 31" tires will work well.

Welcome! Good choice of wheel. I like the AR23...infact I just put a set on my Suzuki Samurai with 31x10:50x15.
