I like the desert sand color and the tan top. Highland motors typically sells jeeps in good condition. its not perfect by any means (wear on the steering wheel) but with the mileage and the condition its pretty decent. if there's minimal to no rust underneath then I'd say offer them 11K for it and see what happens. Its also stock, which in my book is a big plus.

yea steering wheel is torn but not a biggie, easy fix. Still debating on the color. I think Highland has had this one for a while; I saw it on ebay over a month ago so if I do pursue, i'll go in strong!

thoughts on color - desert sand....looks clean!!!

It looks clean (though I can't see the frame), I just do not like the color at all. Though that's just my personal opinion!

That may look good for a IL TJ but I would pass on that much rust.

What's up with the front fender flares? The front is darker than the back on both sides. Just weird that it would discolor like that...Lots of rust to me, if you start trying to remove some of those bolts you might be in for a long day...

If I can get that khaki jeep for $10k, and have it undercoated, might still be a decent deal with the mileage? From what I'm seeing the replacing the fenders isn't too much $$.

It may be worth it to travel out of the rust belt to find your Jeep. Then you can coat a nice rust free Jeep and still come out ahead.

Rust is bad, bad, bad. Especially if you plan on keeping the vehicle for a long time (which seems to be a common occurrence amongst TJ owners).

Also X2. I would travel outside of the rust belt, get a rust free TJ, drive it back, and use Fluid Film liberally several times a year. That will keep your rust free TJ... rust free!
