Never recommending Rock Auto again

Well I did find a way to contact them and they have refunded the money for the damaged parts so that's a positive step in the right direction. Its disappointing that you have to break through their initial blocks and attitude towards their customers before you can resolution but at least its resolved. I imagine that for a lot of customers in this situation they would just give up and write the money off which is no doubt part of their business model to mitigate the impact.

I just received the 10 fuel injectors I ordered last week. Appropriately packaged. No damage.

It's amazing how one idiot employee can completely wreck a business and their reputation.

I'm betting Rock Auto keeps track of which warehouses have the most returns or complaints.

There’s no misconceptions.

We can own guns and mod our vehicles without 100% state regulations . 🤣

Seems like you’ve bought into your states propaganda: saving lives.

You don't list your location, but I can easily tell it's not Kalifornia.

I don’t advocate for using RA for anything other than for looking up part numbers or purchasing if you really need to.

I pretty much hate RockAuto, and I was their biggest fan twenty years ago.

They don’t take accountability well enough for their parts issues, and I had an ugly website experience with trying to cancel a few items…where it only let me select one item to cancel and then immediately finalized the order…without any warning about how it worked. I let them know that their website cancellation method isn’t intuitive and they didn’t like hearing of my experience and told me what I experienced is impossible. The person wasn’t a programmer, yet they chose to straight up gaslight me. And I was 100% accurate with what happened.

They really didn’t like me after I found a way to contact them by phone…since they’ve been automated for years now. The worker who answered sounded super annoyed the second I told him of my issue.

RA made it clear that they didn’t care if they lose my business. I purchase from Amazon on many Prime items now because at least I know their return policy is infinitely better than RA.

Didn't come from Rock Auto, but my recent order from Magnaflow was delivered with the box completely opened and a piece of paper for packing materials. Was probably one of the work packaging jobs I've personally dealt with.

I have personally ordered close to $10K in parts from RA since they went online.

I've had a few mishaps with them along the way, usually the pictured part being substituted by some inferior off-brand, but RA has always allowed me to return the item, if needed. They are no worse or better than Amazon in that regard.

Recently, though, I ordered a starter, but what arrived was not only a dirty, used core from some unknown vehicle, but the person who had returned it before me had written with a marks-a-lot on the top of the box, "Item is a used core - do not restock" .... :cautious:

RA did authorize a return after a sending pictures of the item and the writing on the box.

A few places people haven't mentioned as alternatives are Partsgeek.com AutohausAZ.com Both are very good and carry brands that RA sometimes does not.

🤷‍♂️

RA is Fd for more reasons than just their products or their packaging. They lack proper empathy and accountability when there’s actual damage or the part will not work for the advertised application.

I ordered a front CV shaft from RA in 2018 before I learned my lesson, and the shaft diameter was too large to fit. I explained to them that the splines didn’t fit into the hub and the shaft’s threads didn’t come close to working with the stock locking nut due to the diameter being too big.

They fought me on the return because the part looked correct in the photo that they had me send them and because the part came in the correctly labeled box.

I rarely purchased from RA, and even then, I’m aware that I’m gambling.

Many orders. One issue years ago. Might have been my fault. Returned it. No other issues since.

Friend of mine bought a cheap radiator from Rock Auto. Had an issue with it....found after installing it. Returned it with no issues.

So far, I've been quite happy. I know some people who have similar stories as some on here but I haven't had any issues.

The time that I had a problem with Rock Auto I was unable to find a phone number to contact them to fix the problem. It was there way or the highway. Does anyone have a phone number to reach them?

there is NO customer service representative or department. no contact information at all for customers.
