New carpet options?

I am looking for new carpet for my TJ, The bedrug set didn't work for me. So looking for something more OEM if possible. Here is one of the problems I am facing. I live in AZ and it is hot as hell in the summer time. I have been driving around with no carpet, and it feels like I have the heater on and the ac on. The tunnel gets so hot it radiates it inside. The new carpeting (bed rug) doesn't cover the hump.(I am not running a console) so the carpet is thin under me and doesn't cover the whole hump. The OME carpet is much much thicker and did a good job of holding down the heat. It is just really warn out and really needs to be replaced.

I am curious what others have done for heat suppression under think carpet, or if there are any really good thick carpet kits for the TJ that rae more like OEM?

The photos don't match the actual carpet. Unfortunately. Because some of the pic colors look awesome. But you can request as many as 5 samples at a time here. They sent them to me free in like two days:

As for insulation. This stuff blocks 97% of heat. And is pretty cheap. You wouldn't need very much just to do the front area and the hump.

That would be Bedrug. But I'd imagine you'd still have to shop vac if you got actual standing water.

Can’t find before pictures but I had tan carpet that was horrible. Let sit in dye for 4 days, washed well, then hit with a couple coats of duplicolor fabric and vinyl brush after each coat. Boom brand new and a better color for my Jeep.

What kind of dye, and how did you do that? Big giant tub? That looks great! Although mine might be a little too warn to save, but I will take another look.

Soak it with rit dye. Keep dumping a little more on it every couple hours except when I was at work or asleep. That got it pretty black but not solid then hit it with the duplicolor... brand new

You can go darker but not lighter unfortunately

Do you have a carpet cleaner you could use?

Lowes sells rolls of self adhesive reflective insulation that is used for duct work that might work under your original carpet set if it cleans up nice.
Something like this Insulation roll might work.

From the looking that I did before buying stockinteriors sells the ACC carpet kits referenced in the post by moab. It is great carpet (the Essex line being even better than OEM) ACC now offers kits that are cut like OEM for easy R&R.

So not OE at all but have you looked at BedTred? It’s more like a WeatherTech mat for your Jeep than a carpet but it doesn’t really stain at all, doesn’t absorb much water, keeps out a ton of heat, and overall holds up better than carpet. Just put a set in and I’m really happy.

Well you are too late now, because I already ordered my set, but I ordered the extra thick carpet and the extra padding. I also ordered some extra carpet in case I decide to get rid of my center console. I have been driving around with just mats now, but it is crazy hot. I mean it is like 113 degrees outside and the heat coming up from the floor is beating the air conditioning inside. I didn't notice it till I took the stock carpet out. I figure the stock carpet lasted over 20 years this carpet is supposed to be close, if not better, so I am hoping to get another 20K out of them.

Honestly, I need all of the cooling I can get. It gets down right hot here.
