New Engine & AX-15 Install

1997 TJ: I have the engine compartment stripped clean ready for my new 4.0L engine. Radiator and grille off are off as well. Has anyone ever installed an engine with an AX-15 as one piece before? Have an engine hoist that should handle it but just wondering if I can do the install to avoid having to deal with the tranny after the engine. TIA

short answer: No. But, I recently swapped my 4.0 for a stroker and I have an AX-15 in my '97 TJ. I did it with the grille and radiator off as well. I have no doubt you can easily slide the 4.0/AX-15 combo right in (almost a straight shot). I assume the T-case and crossmember are out, so you'll need to support the transmission until its hooked back up to the T-case and back on the trans mount. Also, if you haven't already done so, now is the time for a new clutch.

Thanks for the reply and confirmation. Every component except the Jeeps engine bay electrical will be new.
