So I recently bought my first jeep a few weeks ago, first car actually too... I have two questions. The first will help solve the second a little.
Specs: Jeep Tj sport, year 2000. 4.0L i6, manual.

FIRST: Front and rear axles (pics in that order)… I have seen the pictures on these forums, Dana 30s front & Dana 44s rear right? I'm not going insane? I'm almost certain, just need an experts eye.

misstype, meant dana 30s for front

SECOND: With with Dana 44 rear the gears would be 3.73 stock or am I wrong? So that means my revs should be around 2800 with the 29 inch tires I haven't changed yet... currently they are a hair over 2000 revs. I thought 2000 jeeps have optional dana 44 rear that come with stock 3.73 gears? Something is up cuz my revs are all wack, so need some help

Thanks in advanced for the replies!

I'm no expert & I'm sure someone will chime in....

It looks like a Dana 44 rear to me & yes they did come with 3.73's (4,10's in the Rubi's I believe)

But for starters you can try this link & put in your VIN, it will give you the original build list... should give you a pretty good idea of how the TJ was built...

When I type it in and hit search, nothing happens. Tried many times :/

I think the stock tire size that year was a 28 or 30 inch tire, so I don't think a speedo regear would be needed in this case. 100km is about 62 mph. In 5th gear with 3.73 & 28in tire, I think 2,000 - 2,100 sounds about correct.

Whoops — I think I read your comment way wrong.

2800 rpm with 3:73 gears, 29" tires is a 1:1 ratio,,, 4th gear. 5th is an overdrive and will drop RPM's significantly more.
