Hi folks! My 99 TJ 2.5 will absolutely start with a butterknife. So not on purpose, I started it with a spare, not realizing it was the door key. Since then, my aftermarket radio is not getting power... I've checked fuses, unhooked the negative for a bit, but no joy. Any suggestions?

Definitely something wrong with the ignition lock mechanism if you can use a butter knife to start the Jeep.
The ignition key and door key are the same key unless a previous owner replaced the ignition switch lock or door lock without having them matched.
Since you have verified the radio is not getting power and the fuse(s) are not blown; then I would remove the plastic clam shells surrounding the steering column, inspect the ignition switch, wiring and harness connector for signs of overheating.

Yeah the guy who had it before did replace the ignition, although I don't know exactly why. Initially, both keys were black plastic but one had a Chrysler logo or whatever. I had some work done on it and used the wrong spare.
i’d temporarily hook radio to a known constant hot wire to rule out a defective radio. if radio works i would replace the key cylinder and ignition switch. new key cylinder can be rekeyed to match doors.
