My wife loves our Jeep too! What ever I want to do to it or put on it is okay with her. She even organized and put on a Jeep run and did a pre-run.

Yeah, my better half has expressed some reservations about anything more than a forestry service road. And to be honest, I'm not sure to just what extent I'm willing to go, myself. Both of my knees are pretty bad, and while rock crawling fascinates me to no end, I doubt I'm agile enough these days to get out and deal with terrain that rugged. I'm just going to have to see where this goes for us, but in the mean time, I get to wrench on the rig and make it right. I've always been happiest in my garage, don'tcha know!

My wife almost insisted that I put the Dana 44 in, rather than just replace the blown rear end with another (decidedly cheaper) Dana 35. You have to love that kind of support!

Regarding really getting started, I do have an idea of where I want to go with it. I'm not looking for a monster, just a highly capable rig. I like the idea of an Eaton E-locker, and think that will happen this summer. As I plan on keeping the 3.73 gears it has, I was thinking maybe a 2" suspension lift with an SYE, and 31" tires. Like I said, not a monster. We plan to retire to the Idaho panhandle eventually, and the TJ and her XJ would be ideal vehicles to have around (along with my diesel Dodge, my Gremlin, my '56 Ford, etc.) Hey, I agreed to one wife, not one car!!!

I have since gotten rid of the wide fender flares and went to 33x10.50 in stead of the 33x12.50.
