New to me TJ

Hello all,

I just purchased a new to me, 2005 2dr Rubicon that is pretty stock. I would like to work on this one myself since my husband just bought a 2020 Rubicon and spends so much time wiping it down, I don't think he'll help too much. LOL

I would like to be able to go off-road - mostly overland, but some rocks (no climbing) as we live in AZ and there are rocks and sand everywhere. It will be used to camp and go to the lake with my kayak as well as a daily driver. Can you help me with what I should tackle first? BTW this will not be a $100K jeep upgrade so keep it closer to a 'cool looking practically stock' upgrade.

The stock Rubicon is pretty capable as it comes from the factory.

Wheel it as is and then make decisions on what needs to be changed.

Thanks - I had a JK Sahara several years back, guess I'm just used to having to 'upgrade' things.

Change out all fluids (brake flush, p.s. too) then just drive it until it tells you what you need.

Welcome! Nice clean looking Rubicon. Like others have mentioned. The Rubicon off the shelf is a very capable TJ. Drive it and use it as it is. If you need or want to do something to it, you'll know after using it for awhile.
