The Lexus is going to be a more reliable DD. The Jeep will be better for wheeling and not so reliable.
Not sure on the Lexus, but I was considering a 4Runner a few months ago when I bought a new DD. At that point, the most common complaint about the 4Runner was the trans. Not that it would break, just reminds me of complaints about the 42RLE. Not enough gears and overall crappy shifting. Disregard if it's a different trans obviously.
Was thinking of getting a JLU or JKU and my wife insisted that we don't end up with a third Wrangler lol. I wasn't going to win that battle. Though she also wasn't happy with the price of my new Ram 1500.
Ended up going with a half ton truck for towing. Main complaints I read regarding the Tundra and current Toyota's is quality control is poor. Rattling, things installed poorly, noisy AC internals, and just general cheapness of parts. No real complaints about engines and trans dying though. Just minor gripes.
Check on Carvana if going with used. I've sold a couple vehicles on there in the past few years and have talked to a few that bought from them.
