I do have the third brake light and tail/backup lights. No tail light stop light, no turn signals. Checked the bulbs and fuses, especially #2 behind the glove box. Looked at wiring diagrams in Chilton and checked any other fuse that might be connected. Everything looks right. Any ideas?

Have you recently gone to LED's?
Have you replaced your turn signal blinker relay?

PO put in LED highlights, otherwise no. No recent electrical work at all. I wired in some free standing backup lights a while ago. Not connected to any existing circuit.
If I have tail lights and backup lights, then the ground to the lamps should be good. The third tail light must use the stop light switch, so that part must be ok.
Brake lights, turn signals, flashers all have what in common?
Jeep seems normal except that.

I'll have to check the schematics but, IIRC, they all go through the multifunction switch and the blinker relay.

Brake (pedal) switch seems to be working normally.

What year is your jeep?

Just for grins, put regular bulbs in your (maybe just one) taillights. They are indexed and should only fit in one way but, can be forced to fit the wrong way.

TJ me is 2003

It's got to be the bulbs. Both. I have 12v on the post in the light fixture. I have no continuity through one side of the bulb. Visually, they look good.
Think I'll read the threads on LED tail lights before I head off to Pepboys.
Thanks
