No bus error

I recently got a no bus error in my ODO with a no gauges in my 04 TJ. Jeep would start for about 5 seconds then die. I tried to figure it out with no success then had the vehicle towed to my local mechanic. Magically the TJ decided to start up and ran fine. Mechanic tried to replicate the issue and was unsuccessful. When I picked it up from the shop it gave me a check engine light with codes p1686,p1687,p1698. They weren't hard codes so after clearing them the jeep has been running fine. Looking for some guidance on what I should try to look for/replace to avoid this issue from reoccurring. This is in intermittent issue that has occurred three times now and usually after a rain storm. The mechanic said the ground was clean and intact.
Any support or guidance would be appreciated!

Maybe look for corrosion on the dash connector, the PCM connectors...check and clean grounds.

It could be in your computer, battery or grounds. The current turnaround time to check an ecm is 1-2 days.
