Weil, today I replace all the fuel injectors on the 4.0…along with new plugs…she’s running good.
I still have that hum noise going on so, I jacked up the rear end as high as I could..but not High enough to get both tires off the ground (front wheels were secure from moving forward.
I was not able to get the rear differential cover off due to time restraints..but I was able to have enough room under the jeep to take these photos and move the - rear driveshaft/pinion yoke ( I no I need to replace the seal..I do have one)..and was checking for any loose preload..I didn’t feel any …so, I’m not sure if the rear diff is causing that hum I’m hearing..
I need to find out more about the parts (in the photos are good stock parts driveshaft yoke ect..I do see something on the inner side of the rear wheels and backside of the axles..it’s kinda dry little bit sticky..didn’t see any leaks on the backside..do, some opinions would be appreciated.
I’m 61 years old and still work 50-60 hour weeks..so, when my weekend do finally come..I’m limited to how much work time I can use for this jeep..my wife comes first and u spend time with her..but she don’t like to work on mechanical stuff..so, that leaves me to do it…I’m happy to do it..I’ve been wrenching since I was 12- helping my dad build race engines for our drag strip cars..for many years..I have rebuilt many engines in my time from cars, trucks, 2stroke outboards, mercruisers, atvs gosh! Too many to list.
I still enjoy wrenching..but getting a bit tired while doing it. I do not know everything about everything so, I’m not too proud to ask questions and listen to answers..always learn something new everyday even if it a new way to something different.
I’m all ears..this probably will be my last vehicle that I’m taking on trying to locate issue, wet answers to my questions and fix/repair as I go along slowly..
Anyone live near or around Pike County, GA that’s willing lend a helping hand if I need one..
Thanks!
I've got two hands but they're in Oregon...
