NorCal Christmas Tree run Saturday December 7th at 9:00 am.

My wife and I put on an annual Christmas tree run into the Mendocino National Forest, starting in Upper Lake. You don't have to cut a Christmas tree if you don't want to and can just come along for the fun of the trip to wheel with old friends and meet new friends. You can pickup a permit to cut your own tree at the store in Upper Lake at Hi-Way Grocery 160 State Hwy 20, Upper Lake on the day of the trip for $10. Or you can go online at https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/mendocino/passes-permits/forestproducts/?cid=FSBDEV3_004473

We will meet in the parking lot of the Upper Lake County Park at 9:00 am and depart at 9:30 am. The Park is on Hwy 20 between the Running Creek Casino and Napa Auto Parts. Here is a link on where to meet. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.161522,-122.9060481,211m/data=!3m1!1e3
Don't forget to top off your tank before we head up to the forest.

Just about every year, we have had snow on this trip, which puts everyone in the Christmas spirit and makes for fun wheeling!
Let me know if you can make this trip and I will start a list.
Here are a few pictures from last years Christmas tree run.

Laura and I will want to make it, we probably will not cut a tree cause we do that when we have our boys for Christmas. Are there restrictions on your side of MNF for cutting ? are they all matchsticks ?

They give you a map and where you can cut. They didn't all burn up. We cut some last December.

Looks like fun, but MNF to Shasta County is a bit far to schlep a tree, especially since we have an approved tree cutting area close to home.

But maybe I'll drive down for the comradery.
Want me to put you on the list? There are usually more people that don't cut trees on the ran then the ones that do.

Welcome @LittleTankTJ I'll put you on the list.
If it's a long drive and you want to come up the night before, there is a Super 8 Motel on Hwy 20 in Upper Lake about a rock throw to where we are going to meet at the Park.

Pencil us,,,my wife Lisa and I,, in, as it gets a little closer, I'll have a better idea if schedules work. Sure would like to meet some of you guys in person. We have basically a stock TJ GE with BFG AT's. 4.0, 42rle, Dana 44 rear axle, 373 ratio. Unless we get a crazy early winter, I'm guessing we'll get thru it all fine,??
