Glad you finally made the decision. I think you'll enjoy the gears and locker a lot, and especially the peace of mind of the S35 shafts.

The gear swap is going to make such a positive improvement, he has no idea.

Now I get to agonize over trashing an AX-5!

Running those hills this weekend really did it for me. First and second, then back to first...then second...then back to first. Then wishing I had another gear under first. I was so pissed by the time I got on Hwy. 18, I drove home in fourth. The lockers and shafts are just an added bonus that'll probably get me in more trouble than not.

It seems like the number one reason for AX5 death (from what I've seen, anyways) is 5th gear dying from being under too much stress from people having to hammer it constantly on the highway with larger tires and no gears to compensate other than stock 4.10. I'd bet that it'll actually last longer under the lower gears. No way to tell for sure, I suppose, but I think that's what causes a lot of problems for people.

Now, if you're killing other gears, I can't help ya there.
