Not sure what this hose?

2006 LJ

I have what looks like a hose coming out of the firewall into the engine compartment. It is not attached to anything. I've been looking things over related to CEL with Evap codes. P0440 and P0441.

Not sure if this hose has anything to do with it. see the pictures and see if you have this hose on your jeep. Any clues what this is?

Not connected to CEL, but it looks like it has been plugged from that pic.

There should be a vent cap on the end that looks something like this.

The pic is the cap, it just has a lot of grease and or dirt on that. It is more likely the automatic transmission vent line. I have a 2006 TJ and that is where my automatic transmission vent line is. My transfer case vent line is in the same spot on the drivers side of the engine.
