Chasing vibes after my recent Savvy tummy tuck install. Started out with a NP231 with unknown SYE, Tom Woods DS, and Ford 8.8--all installed about 3 years ago by a local shop. I previously had mild rythmic vibes around 70+ mph before the TT, but nothing bad. After the TT, I now have vibes basically from the moment I start moving that get considerably more noticable around 40mph. These aren't "OMG the thing is coming apart!" vibes, but more than a light harmonic and I don't feel like driving it around is a good idea kinda vibes. I have been playing with the pinion angle and got the DS angle right at about 22.5, and diff pinion at 22. The diff on the 8.8 is also of course offset, and the TT made this worse a bit by needing the ass end of drivetrain scooted over towards the driver's side to get lined up with the crossmember.
So I'm underneath looking things over, trying to decide if it's my offset diff causing the vibes. I know my U joints are good but checked them anyways. They seem fine, but I noticed the yoke coming off the back of my transfer case has some play. Not a ton, but some. I can push up on the DS and see the yoke move relative to the output shaft and nut coming out the back of the transfer case. Should there be any? I feel like just popping off the DS and cranking down that nut holding the yoke to the shaft would fix it, but I'm sure it isn't that simple. Is this an issue? Am I barking up the wrong tree with the vibes?
