Nugget (now with diesel)

Started life as a 2.4l 5 spd

It now has the R2.8l and a 6 spd.

I’ve completed the swap but had an issue trying to use the original computer to have gauges. gave up on that and the no bus issue so I ordered a complete sweep of auto meter gauges. I’m still wiring those in. Along with trying to figure out how to wire the electric fan in.

not to sure if I will leave the back plate gold. Will probably end up painting it black.

Is that the original gauge cluster shell, just gutted out? I'm getting close to building mine and looking for any tips!

I'm hoping I can get something close to yours! Really like the look and finish. Do you have any more pics of during and after the build?

i will see if i can find some more build pictures.

i must have used at least three cereal boxes until i had the template i was satisfied with then i transferred it all to some thin aluminum.

i’ve got to pull the Fuel gauge out so i’ll take a shot of the backside too

Great swap! Looks fantastic. Can it run on other fuels (like other diesels can flex) or must it be diesel?

i haven’t read into that, i only thing i know on the big diesels it takes additional filters for other types of fuel oils

just found this on the ole internets

“All new Cummins Engines are approved to run blends of biodiesel up to 20 percent. “

Took the advice in another thread, finally did something to stop all my ducks falling out there Jeep.

I installed the 4.6L mustang inner shift boot and a new outer shift boot.

My oldest son gave me $50 gift card.

With the new shift boots and a new outer shift boot ring, Tally was right at $48. Shipping was $12 though damn Rockauto

Didn't need the metal back plate. It was held on by three staples. Easy enough. It did have backing foam on the rubber that was easy to peel off to.

The hardest part was removing the shifter knob. I did not have one of those Rubber oil filter wrenches. Wasn't worried about damaging the shifter since I have a Moab Rock knob from 20 years ago I need to reinstall.

Super excited, headed out to the hills for some camping this weekend. Last time I went camping my son was 2. We celebrated his 13th last month. Life seems to get busier and busier.

Could have sworn I retired 3 years ago

it wasn’t a simple flip either.

probably why they went to an I- Beam shape on the new arms. i will try and see if i can re mount.

Anti rock does not sell individually. has to be the pair. Might as well purchase a whole new kit at that replacement price
